Tales - Dignity Dictates

There was this story, As goes much history: Sometimes it's best to Let people think through... Without the questionably Beneficial distraction of you It is a tale indeed, Of two great cities: Something always comes From intimacy, but offering Solutions to thirst isn't always Called water. Pride precludes That whenever the worst of Times hit, so does victory. - Victor Imari (08/06)

Free Gods (Requiem)

Whatever I write, er  Is the truest truth, er    ~ The Shah of Athabasca    If I am earth, Swept by winds, Then I know, Fires abound.   If I am wind, Bound by fires, There I may know, Anonymous winds.   And if I am fire, In search of air That much I know: Balls of fire here.   Free,   Balls of fire here.    Victor Imari  (06/21/06)

For Haven's Sake

We are brought into Each others universe   Just ripe enough:   Spoiled, really spoiled Sometimes, spoilt even;   Or, right:   Just ripe enough.         ~Victor Imari (6/14/06)

Any Leap (Lately)

Any leap aught,     Not be forced.       ~ The Shah of Athabasca   From courage, Or desperation:   There is an end, To everything...   There is an end, To every beginning;   And every end too.       Victor Imari (6/1/2006)

15 Minutes (What to do)

In my life, there Are distractions. ~ The Shah of Athabasca Everywhere is authenticity; Verification that progress Requires much discipline, To access safest potentials When opportunities flower. Victor Imari (5/29/06)

Soundness

To listen is...     To l ove silence       ~The Shah of Athabasca   Sound is everything Next to which lurks   Silence beyond what Beckons, but flows   As if membranes Through caverns   Bestowed without Electricity even   Here       Victor Imari (5/14/06)

Any Generalist's Dilemna

To golf or write,      That's all right.            ~ The Shah Of Athabasca   Always, there Are obstacles   To commandeer And overcome   With desire, Duly aspired:   You can't But know   The landscape All too well,   If it hasn't Nailed you (yet)   There is trajectory.       Victor Imari

Nice Cities

A peace of the action can Best a piece of an action.       ~The Shah of Athabasca   My life is Nairobi. My days are like...   Dar Es Salaam; There is Peace,   Everywhere all Most harmonica   (There must be  a piece here).       ~Victor Imari (09/04)

Look

The longer I look around, The more I am convinced:   There are things to be done, And there are other things,   Either to avoid, or not Necessary. You know:   That extra time around When we wonder about   When we make time to Make sense of writing   Down our thoughts Out loud - like?    ~Victor Imari

Generally

Sometimes it's  Probably wiser  To pray than  To worry later.    ~ The Shah of Athabasca   There are good Followers, bad   Followers, good Bad followers,   Bad good followers, Good bad followers,   You get the idea: Followers are,   Generally... Questionable.    ~ Victor Imari (3/2/06)

Significance

Bad language is a frustration.     ~ The Shah of Athabasca   Various appearances of significance And disappearance of insignificance Share a unique relationship that is Seldom but insignificant in itself:   Your most insignificant action might Well save the universe of a lifetime Of significance is measured in terms Of time, and space. So much so, that   Without significance would be chaos.        Victor Imari (01/06)

A Trip to BC

Felix, our beloved spider  Was everywhere, and beloved  As ever he blessed us all.     ~The Shah of Athabasca   Jimmy the mad man was Not there this time, but   His presence was: Why not? Why not be fearless? Yet...   There was fear. These people Dreaded Jimmy. Jimmy did   Their worst anticipation: Better pretending to be ,   Better than they'd ever Seen before their eyes   Landed back, and saw The future bounce back.        Victor Imari (01/06)

Once

It takes no time To go nowhere, It takes forever To go everywhere.   Johnny wanted To run away as Fast he could All in peace,   Without reserve, To live by rules Mitigated only By innovation,   For as long as He could figure, On being alive To then believe,   It takes no time, To go nowhere, It takes forever To go everywhere.  ~Victor Imari (10/27/05)

Yogi Bera's Advice

The brightest star Among millions, Doesn't illuminate The other stars.    ~ The Shah of Athabasca   I've chosen Yogi Bera's advice, I've done so more than once.   Like confessions on confetti, I've felt most of my travels.   Where I didn't want to stay, I moved on to places I knew:   If I could do it all again, I'd do it in reverse by now.    - Victor Imari (10/7/5)

Big Ideas

Any old shplan might       Work with problems.                 ~The Shah of Athabasca   Any old thing you may Feel can be made up   Of your very own life's Dreams and desires,   Failures, triumphs, You get the idea...   All those feelings, Bound to collide,   On but one condition: That they're allowed.        ~Victor Imari (29/08/05)

Why Not?

Truest love is the best          Peace of cherishment.                     ~The Shah of Athabasca   Between humility and humiliation Lies a chasm, which cannot bridge   The tests of time are but forgotten Like accidents over darkest nights   Filled with anticipation of horrors Sprung from desires to change lies   Deep within the human condition That challenges your self-dignity   To places where the atmosphere Is familiar, but the people are   Not.   ~Victor Imari (8/24/05)

To Ringo

Personally, I prefer some Paranoia to the real thing.        ~The Shah of Athabasca   When experience is aged expectation, The truth is eclipsed by the unknown.   Risk is to belief as its merit is to inheritance. None can be another; nothing is merely anything.   Freedom is more the offspring of discovering, And letting go (of some truth, than its capture).   ~Victor Imari (06/04)

Cupidity

Between desire and possibility, Flows opportunity. Between love And loss floats some disutility. ~The Shah of Athabasca As far as eyes see, What's lost is uncertainty; Perhaps a tribute Paid by the same torrent: What mystery? All the same, never fate be Where hope runs dry, At the mercy of dreams to die. Perception is the public self Don't you know: Choice is God's gift, And decision is our torment; And time is that wheel, Riding those divine railways... 'By the way, about that bridge...' Might there be a single currency, You think, over galactic years? It is indeed too bad we can't deal With all the world's ill in one setting: All seven sins, in just so much time. With all the visions, And revisions...alas, Indifference is the grease That expedites our(downward?) Spiral of despair; Precluding the friction to obviate Resolution toward repair. The truly heard are Not among the veritably haunted. 'There will be time, There...

Stray Doubt

Two wrongs don't make a right, Though three lefts generally do. ~The Shah of Athabasca Attached by a rope, Borne into chaos, So close nature's heart, With sword in hand, We cry, and try, and If condemned forever, The rope must sever; Hardly remembered, Free at last, With pen in hand. Irresolution, though, perhaps The consequence of tributes Various virtues pay to vice, The mother of all hypocrisy Seems cheaper than deaths Relentless frame Up of solitude; so Much ground to cover, A moment of clarity Worth lifetimes of sanity, But brews the rage, Even precludes the cut, Through crowded conscience, To invalidate the sentence, And keep free the innocent With pen in hand. ~Victor Imari, 2001
